Lauren Rookard

Digital marketing / media director / team coach

Hometown: Mt. Pleasant, MI

BACKGROUND

I played volleyball all throughout high school for the Sacred Heart Academy program as a libero. While I still love to play once in a while, my heart lies with coaching! In high school, I coached for over 5 years for the Mt. Pleasant Parks & Recreation volleyball program, and after graduating from college, I moved back to Mt. Pleasant and began assistant coaching under Krista Davis with the Sacred Heart Academy varsity volleyball team for the 2024-2025 season. Winter 2025 was my first season coaching with ACES, and I am very excited to keep sharing my knowledge with the players I get to coach in the ACES program!

WHY ACES

ACES is a program that truly cares about the development of players on and off the court. Having a program rooted in culture helps to build teams and individuals— leaving them with skills they can take with them. ACES also has coaches and staff that are knowledgeable, passionate, and have extensive coaching backgrounds. I chose to coach with ACES to not only get to do something I love but I have the opportunity to learn from seasoned coaches who are more than happy to share their insights and tips with younger coaches.

FUN FACT

I graduated in 2024 from the University of Michigan’s business program! I concentrated my studies in marketing with an emphasis social and environmental responsibility. Since graduating and moving back to Mt. Pleasant, I have been working at Isabella County Child Advocacy Center as the Development & Community Engagement Manager. I get to design all marketing materials and plan all events while giving back to my community. I also have started designing marketing materials for the ACES program, so you may be seeing some of my designs on social media!
